VICTORVILLE Victor Valley College has taken several steps over the summer to address the concerns of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, which issued a warning to the school on June 29. While the college is still accredited, it needs to improve in areas such as learning outcomes and shared decision making at all levels of the institution, the commission found. On Monday, VVC will send the commission its first official progress report detailing the changes it has made and its plans for the future. A draft of the report came before the colleges Board of Trustees for discussion Tuesday. Among the major changes that VVC President Robert Silverman lists in the report are the new shared governance policy and the College Council that was set up to practice the policy.
